Baby Dedication

Father's Day this year was extra, extra special.  Not only did we have our baby boy to celebrate with, but we also had the opportunity to dedicate William back to God!

William's dedication was probably the most important day thus far in his young life.  In fact, it was the most important day in mine and Dustin's life as parents thus far too.  We pledged to be Godly parents for William and to bring our child up teaching him the love of his heavenly father.  We look forward to that day when William is old enough to understand this love and to ask Jesus to live in his heart.

William was dedicated June 19, 2011 at North Glencoe Baptist Church.  All of our families were there to share in this special day.

How blessed is our baby boy!

I realized that day as Dustin and I stood before the church with our baby boy that he is just on loan to us from God.  We don't know how long we have him; We don't know what our future holds; We don't know what trails may come our way; But we do know that we have asked God to guide and lead us as we try to parent this precious baby and I think that is a pretty good start!

What a beautiful little moment this day was...

Happy Father's Day!

Mother's Day and Father's Day have always been very special holidays to me.  I have been blessed with a mother and father that love me unconditionally.  There are so many things I could praise my parents for, but what it all comes down to is that they just love me, and that love has molded me into the mother that I am learning to be.

Both my mother and father have made this statement to me as I was growing up:  "You'll understand one day when you have kids.  You just wait!"  Well, I'm only beginning to understand, but boy oh boy!  Mother's Day and Father's Day took on an entirely new meaning this year.

June 19, 2011 was Dustin's first Father's Day.  Unfortunately he had to work, but was able to spend the morning with us before he had to go to work.  We were able to go to church together as a family and dedicate our baby boy to God (I'll do a separate post on baby dedication).

We celebrated Father's Day with Dustin's family by cooking out at Ethan and Sara's house the Thursday before Father's Day.  I know that Dustin has also learned how to love so deep from the example that his parents have set for him.  His father, Mike, is one of the most genuine people I know.  He's jumps at the chance to help Dustin or to hold and play with his grandson. I caught some special moments with Grandad.

The Williams Clan all got together on the Monday after Father's Day. The house full of grandkids was so much fun!  Tanner, Reid, and Alex all had a blast running through the sprinklers at Paw Paw's house.  It was priceless memories.  Paw Paw was right in fashion making my baby boy laugh!

Dustin is an exceptional father.  He loves William so much.  He's already bought William his first golf club!  I love watching William's eyes light up when he hears his daddy's voice.  It's precious! I sure do love my two boys!

I hope everyone had a special Father's Day this year!

Better Late Then Never

Time has gotten away from me, and I've slacked on my blogging.

William is growing!  He is 8 weeks old today.  I just can't believe how fast time is flying.  He's making all kinds of progress too.  He's really started to enjoy his play mat.  He use to just lay there on it for about a minute and then start screaming.  Now he loves to play with all the dangling toys on it.  He kicks, hits and wiggles all over the little mat.  He has also found his little hands and thumbs!  He tries to put his entire hand in his mouth and when that doesn't work he takes his itty bitty thumb and pops it right in his mouth.  Of course, I'm always there to pull the thumb right out.  He's smiling more each day, and his coo's and ahh's are just precious! We do our tummy time each day and his little neck is getting stronger.

William got a new toy last week, a swing!!  It has been a life changer for me.  He loves to swing, and when he swings, it allows me some free time to do a little housework or just read a magazine!  I have a stack of magazines by my chair that I've yet to have a chance to look through!

Dustin has been really busy around the house too.  Last week he built an addition to our fire pit area.  It provides shade for William and I if we want to sit outside during the days.  He did an awesome job.  Whenever the rain lets up I'll post some pics with the area all set up!

We are looking forward to the weekend, and Daddy (Dustin) being home!

William loves bath time!

Growing, Growing, Growing!

Today was William's 1 month doctor visit. Can you believe it??  1 month already! Time is flying by!

William is now weighing a good 10 lbs 9oz, and he is 22 and 1/2 inches long.  He's gained 2 lbs and 2 inches since our last visit.  He's in the 90th percentile for his length and 75 percentile for his weight.  We were proud parents today. He also had to get a nasty shot and prick in his foot.  Our little man screamed for a bit, but then fell asleep on the ride home.  He's really not been too fussy today either.
