Good-bye 2011: Happy New 2012!

I always catch myself reminiscing on New Year's Eve.  I've spent New Year's Eve many special ways.  Growing up NYE was spent with family watching Dick Clark and the ball drop.  As a young adult, NYE was spent with my girlfriends making hilarious memories that I wouldn't trade for anything in this world!  In fact, I've even spent New Years in Vegas with some of my best girlfriends.

Last year was a special NYE because I was pregnant and to be honest, I fell asleep well before the midnight hour.  This year, Dustin and I chose to spend NYE very low key, simple, and with our little boy.  William is now asleep, and I'm looking forward to what 2012 will bring our family!

As I think back over this year, many memories have been made.  Dustin turned 30; Jorja Leigh Brewer was born; William Michael Tucker changed my heart forever; BAMA secured a spot in the BCS National Championship Game

However, with every year that passes I have to ask myself, "What lesson have I learned?"

In 2011 I have learned the lesson of a mother's love.  I never knew what all my mother did for me until I had William.  I know how much I love my little boy and would do anything in this world for him!  That is how my mother feels about me...

A mother doesn't enjoy changing dirty diapers, cleaning up messes, cooking every night after working all day, laundry, cleaning house, going to bed late and getting up early, or even doing the dishes BUT she does them because that's what a mother does; she takes care of her family because NOTHING compares to a mother's love!  (except of course a Father's love, and that's just a whole different blog...coming soon of course)

Where in the world would we be without our mothers?

I'm now going to close the computer and ring in the New Year with my family.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 =)

William's First Christmas

By the end of the day, William had racked up! I think my baby boy
had a wonderful first Christmas!
William woke up about 6:15 on Christmas morning.  As normal, I changed his diaper and fed him his bottle in the nursery.  After getting the basics out of the way, Dustin joined us in the kitchen for a little "Happy Birthday Jesus" time.  Then, it was time to see if Santa had made a stop by our house, and he did!  I videoed the morning and tried to take pics at the same time, but that was pretty hard.  I did capture a few adorable snaps though.

Maw-Maw stopped by to see what all Santa had brought William and Bogey.  She also snapped a picture of Dustin and I with William.

William continued to play with his new toys until around 10:00 when he laid down for a nap. It seemed like the morning flew by and the next thing we knew we running a little late for Christmas lunch at Grandmothers house.  We finally arrived and ate a delicious lunch with family. In our rush to get to Grandmothers and the nasty rain outside, I forgot to bring the camera in to snap pictures of everyone.  Nevertheless, it was lovely time, and it made my heart smile seeing William playing with everyone!

Next, we were off to Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's house!  Christmas with all the kids was SO MUCH FUN! It was hilarious listening to Alex, Reid, and Tanner's reactions to their presents.  Jorja and William were into everything!  It was also so good to laugh with my sisters!  Mom and Dad were enjoying have all their babies under one roof too!

After we finished Christmas with my family, Dustin and I headed to an annual friends Christmas party in Anniston.  Gramsie and Grandad kept William for us while we went to exchange gifts with some of our friends. We were definitely tired when we headed toward Anniston, but we livened up once we were around our buddies!  It was so good to see everyone!

Our next stop was picking William back up and then HOME!  We were all exhausted and ready for bed.

Wonderful Christmas memories were made!

Merry Christmas 2011

Twas the Night Before Christmas

On Christmas Eve, Dustin, Will, and I headed over to Gramsie and Grandad's for lunch with the family.  It was the start of our Christmas festivities for the weekend.

Grandmother and William are having fun.

He LOVES his Great-Grandmother!

If he only had more hands for all these toys!

Mr. Bogey really enjoys the ball popper.  We've already
sacrificed one ball as a chew toy.  =)
After a fun afternoon with the family, it was time to head home and prepare for Santa Clause!  I made chocolate oatmeal cookies for Santa, and I also made a birthday cake for Jesus.  This is going to be our new family tradition.

Milk and Cookies for Santa

William fell asleep, and shortly after, Santa came to visit him and Bogey!

Will's First Santa Visit

Santa was good to Bogey too!

Will's Stocking

Will's rocking horse that sings songs and talks to him.  It will also
turn into a spring horse.
I was so excited about seeing Will's face in the morning that I didn't think I would ever fall asleep!

Dustin and I also exchanged gifts to each other Christmas Eve.  I got Dustin a bunch of stuff he was wanting for his guns. He made a list, and I ordered it.  I had no clue what any of it was, but he was very excited about it all and that's all that matters! He got me this table with lamp attached that I've been wanting for a while now.  I love it!!!!  It looks really good in our den.  He also got me a heated blanket, jump drive (I was in desperate need for one that could store all my pictures), and snuggie that I asked for.

It was a sweet, sweet Christmas Eve!
